Does Your Story Really Have Value?

Do you ever wonder if your story has value to the rest of the world? If your message that burns inside you really can make the world a better place?

If so, you’re not alone.

Finding the courage to put your message out there is never easy. A lot of entrepreneurs, business professionals, and thought leaders we work with feel unsure about whether or not their story is worth telling, because it seems so similar to someone else’s.

Or you might be holding back your message out of fear that no one will care or maybe you simply haven’t heard anyone else express it like you before. Is it too different? Too similar?

I’ve found these same fears while working with all sorts of people, even those you think wouldn’t be afraid to share their message.

I once had lunch in New York City with someone whose last name is incredibly well known. They confided in me that walking into a new room to share a message always brings fear. They never know if people are listening because the message is valuable or simply because of their last name.

I realized then that we all struggle from the same insecurities and fears. We all tend to diminish our own story while deifying the stories of others.

Your Meaningful Message Matters

What you have to say matters, even if you’re still figuring out  what exactly that is.

What makes you unique is that no one else is you. There’s not a single person in this world who shares your perspective or who can share it better than you can.

No one else has lived your story. No one else has experienced your highs and lows, your wins and losses. Those experiences have shaped your perspective on life, the universe, and everything in it. No one else has your distinct credentials, your mistakes, or your lessons learned. In short, no one else is you

I believe every person has a Meaningful Message. A Meaningful Message burns within you, and you’re passionate about sharing it with the world.

Think about it: What is that idea or thought that just never seems to leave you?

You are not here to compete with anyone else’s story or ideas. You are here to connect with the people who need to hear it from your perspective.

You don’t need to be original, just real. Originality is about saying something no one has ever said before. Authenticity is about saying something real based on your own experience. You don’t have to be the first to say it. You just have to say it in a way that is true to who you are.

How many times have you heard something before, but it only “clicked” when someone said it a different way? That’s the gift of authenticity. Your voice can do the same.

Your quirks, your tone, your way of seeing the world are all reasons why your story must be told.

You don’t need permission to share your story, but in case you were waiting for it, here it is.

The world needs to hear what you have to say!

Your Story Advantage Question:

What fears or concerns about the value of your story hold you back? Where do you struggle to believe your story truly has value to others? If you don’t know the story you tell yourself, you can’t change it.
